Tony Mowbray may utilise the loan market in order to enhance competition in West Brom's squad and guard against complacency during the run-in.
But the Baggies boss has ruled out making a move for a striker, feeling the four he already has at The Hawthorns can provide the fire power to maintain Albion's Championship title aspirations.
"All positions on the field are important and it is vital that we create competition and that nobody feels that they are going to play every week," said Mowbray.
"We will just keep looking, especially if the right player comes along. I am not saying we will but it is something we are monitoring, we should never rest on our laurels.
"But I think four strikers is the right number to have real healthy competition. They all believe they can all score goals and to do it they have got to look over their shoulders and wonder if the manager is going to play them or leave them on the bench.
"Then, if they are left on the bench, they won't have a gripe about it because they understand the guy who is playing is banging goals in as well."
