The Denmark international striker has failed to hold down a regular place in the team since joining from Stuttgart a year ago, but insists that he was not looking to move for the second consecutive January transfer window.

"I am happy with my situation in Villarreal and I love to play in a country where technically good football is highly valued", the 31-year old told Politiken.

Tomasson has scored six goals in 25 starts during his year with Villarreal, but is still seen as fourth choice up front behind Nihat, Giuseppe Rossi and Guille Franco even after the departure of Diego Forlan for Atletico Madrid in the summer.

The former Milan and Feyenoord forward spent a spell in English football early in his career, with a largely unsuccessful season at Newcastle United.
