Manchester City goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson has turned his back on a loan move and vowed to stay and fight for his place in the Manchester City side.
The Sweden international has dropped down the pecking order at Eastlands and currently finds himself behind youngsters Joe Hart and Casper Schmeichel - who has now returned from a loan deal with Cardiff - in Sven-Goran Eriksson's plans.
His lack of playing time during the first half of the season prompted the 26-year-old to look elsewhere during the January transfer window and a move to Galatasaray was mooted.
But a deal with the Turkish outfit failed to materialise and, with the window closing last Thursday, a loan move was an option left open to Isaksson, who knows he needs more first team action if he is win a place in Sweden's squad for next summer's Euro 2008 tournament.
However, that alternative has now been put to bed with Isaksson insisting he wants to stay and win back his place in Eriksson's side.
"It wouldn't feel right to sign a loan contract at this point," Isaksson told Sportexpressen.se. "City is my choice."
