Dundee United manager Peter Houston insisted it was his side's quality that saw them to a 2-0 Scottish Cup fifth-round win at Rangers, rather than the current disruption at the Glasgow club.
Rangers are waiting for a verdict in a tax tribunal with Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs that could land the club with a bill of £49million and lost star striker Nikica Jelavic to Everton on transfer deadline day - prompting suggestions that manager Ally McCoist is presiding over a club in crisis.
But Houston, who watched on as goals from Gavin Gunning and Johnny Russell secured progression for United, backed McCoist to steer his club in the right direction. And he stressed that it was his team's good work on the pitch that handed them victory at Ibrox.
"We weren't concerned with what's going on at Rangers. Rangers have got a good squad of players," he said.
"Coisty will turn it around. He's a fantastic manager and I think he's going to be a great manager long term for Rangers.
"I put today's result down to what we did, rather than what Rangers didn't do."

The commentator is an idiot a draw is no use to any team in a cup game, there is a replay so no team would have been happy with a 2-2 draw. Well done the Arabs a well deserved victory, they played Rangers off the park.
Why did commentator suggest that Utd would be happy with a 2--2 draw just as the 2nd half began? Utd would have been gutted with that scoreline!!! Frankie the Arab.
Yep, Peter you certainly did deserve to WIN.
