Wigan assistant boss Eric Black has revealed Latics are in the Premier League's top three - when it comes to hard work.Wigan are currently in 14th spot in the Premier League after a run of seven points from their last four games and Black says the secret of their success has been their work-rate.

Black told the Wigan Observer: "We looked at the intensity stats throughout the whole league and we've gone from being 17th in the division up to around second or third. That's a great effort from everyone.

"I'm not saying we're the best team in the league, but we work one of the hardest and cover more ground than most.

"It's about having a competitive, organised unit. We're playing at a higher intensity and playing a lot quicker.

"The players have been really receptive to what we've wanted to do."
