Steven Fletcher admits the world is at his feet as long as he continues to develop with his club Hibernian. The Clydesdale Bank Young Player of the Month for February has been riding the crest of a wave along with the Easter Road side over recent weeks.
Fletcher scored five goals as the Edinburgh outfit picked up 13 points from a possible 15 last month. His input included a hat-trick in the 4-2 win over Gretna at Easter Road on February 13.
And even Saturday's defeat by Celtic could not take the shine off an excellent spell for the Scotland Under-21 youngster which has seen him linked with a sensational move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Fletcher is also tipped to make the step up to George Burley's senior international squad very soon.
He has three-and-a-half years left on his contract after signing an extension and said: "I've signed a new deal and I just want to get better as a player.
"Being at Hibernian appears to be doing me no harm whatsoever just now.
"I feel I've been doing well, I've got another couple of years here and then we'll see what happens.
"I'm just keeping my head down and concentrating on Hibernian and if the Scotland call comes then that would be very nice to get that opportunity.
"But there's also some big fixtures with the Scotland Under-21s coming up as well so I'm looking forward to that.
"Obviously when the Real Madrid thing came along I just laughed it off. I had the usual banter with the boys in the changing room."
His young player gong for February joins the one he achieved back in August for his fine displays under then manager John Collins.
But current boss Mixu Paatelainen, who arrived midway through January after Collins' surprise departure, also seems to have had a positive effect on Fletcher.
Paatelainen has been quick to praise Fletcher's mercurial talent but also attempted to keep his feet firmly on the ground.
Fletcher admits the former Hibs striker has been quick to put faith in his talents and give career advice.
The youngster added: "When a new manager comes in everyone gets a boost, even the players who haven't been playing or have been injured.
"But it is nice that the gaffer is on my side and he's pushing me."
