Cardiff boss Dave Jones admits he was delighted to see Riccardo Scimeca and Trevor Sinclair return to action at Crystal Palace on Wednesday.Despite dominating for prolonged spells the Bluebirds were held to a 0-0 draw, but Jones was impressed by the midfield pair on their long-awaited returns to action.

"They got a good hour under their belts. It's good to have a virtual full squad to pick from for next week," he told the club's official website. "Riccy will be stiff and sore but he said he felt he could go on a bit longer but why empty the tanks completely?

"I said to him if we could get a good 45 minutes out of him we would be pleased, but I thought he was superb and I thought Trevor was as well.

"They've been out a long time with the injuries they've had. It's a good workout for them."

The City boss also revealed winger Joe Ledley is on course to be fit for Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final with Middlesbrough. "We are just waiting on Joe, if he can get through this week in training he will come into contention as well," he added.
