League Two outfit Stockport have appealed to football fans worldwide for support in their attempts to raise £1million to buy back Edgeley Park.Cheshire Sport purchased the stadium, County's home since 1902, six years ago. But as part of the deal which saw the club bought by fans in 2005, there is an eight-year option to buy back the ground.
Having secured an offer of a mortgage, the club now need to raise a £1million deposit.
In an attempt for much-needed help, County have launched a pixel sale website and have set up a prize draw, with the winner given the honour of having one of the stands named after them.
Managing director Mark McGuire told the club's official website: "The only way to guarantee the long-term future of the club is to own its stadium.
"We have a fantastic chance of achieving this if we can raise the deposit."
