Liverpool's Bulgaria Under-21 goalkeeper Nikolay Mihaylov has claimed that Sevilla and Espanyol have been trailing him.

Mihaylov, 19, is currently on loan at FC Twente in the Netherlands after failing to be awarded a work permit to join Liverpool last summer.

"You probably know that two or three clubs from Spain are watching me," the former Levski Sofia shot-stopper claimed. "They are Espanyol and Sevilla and there is one more club. However, my agent is dealing with these issues.

"As I said in one interview in the past, only God knows what will happen," Mihaylov told Bulgarian Radio Gong.

Mihaylov also spoke of his frustration at the bit-part role he has at Twente, where his route to the first team is blocked by veteran keeper Sander Boschker.

"I do not know when I will make my official debut for Twente as the policy of the club is quite strange," he complained.

"The first choice goalkeeper is 37-years-old but is still motivated to play. If I remain at Twente in the next season I will fight with him for the starting spot on equal terms.

"Coach Fred Rutten has told me that if we both show the same level I will play because I am much younger."

The youngster, son of Bulgaria goalkeeping great Boris Mihaylov, does not know where his future lies, however. The lack of playing time at Twente means he has yet to add to his one international cap and is unlikely to be granted a work permit on appeal.

"My future will be probably decided in April when my agent will visit Liverpool," he admitted.

"We will see whether I will return to Anfield or maybe go to Spain. Quite a few teams are interested in me and I will chose the best option to continue my career."
