Mathias: It's all about the points

Sat 05 Apr, 01:30 PM

MK Dons assistant boss Ray Mathias was far from satisfied despite watching his side win 2-1 at Lincoln to move joint top of League Two.Goals from Carl Regan and Jemal Johnson were enough to claim all three points at Sincil Bank on Friday night, but Mathias was not happy with the performance.

And the Dons were forced to hold on after Imps striker Ben Wright grabbed his 13th goal of the season on the hour.

Mathias admitted: "Sometimes in a season you don't play well, this was one of them but we got the result.

"There are still six games left and 18 points to play for, we got three points but it wasn't a good performance, it was an ugly performance, at times our passing was a bit poor and the pitch didn't help us.

"Defensively we let a bad goal in which is not like us, and it left us under the cosh a bit. Sometimes you've got to grind out a result, but at this time of the season performances don't mean anything."
