British number one Paul Drinkhall missed a second chance to secure a place at the Beijing Olympics after he narrowly lost to France's Damien Eloi at the European Table Tennis qualifying tournament in Nantes.
The 18-year-old from Middlesbrough lost to Poland's Daniel Gorak on Friday and was unable to find form against Eloi as he slipped to a 4-3 defeat
Drinkhall, ranked 194th in the world, will though have another chance with the three final spots available at the World Qualifying Tournament in Budapest which starts on May 8.
