Reaction from the Premier League's head honchos after Saturday's matches.

FOOTBALL 2007-2008 Premier League Arsenal-Liverpool Wenger - 0

Arsenal 1-1 Liverpool

Arsene Wenger: "In my brain it is not over, because it is not over mathematically. It depends on the results of the other teams. I said we would need at least five wins and a draw. It is frustrating again because I feel we had a blatant penalty again for a foul on [Cesc] Fabregas, which was not given. You can see it well on television, it is 100 percent conclusive."

Rafael Benitez: "I think it will be difficult for them. I was asking Arsene before in the race for the title, you cannot lose points now, so it is really difficult. Maybe the only option now for them is the Champions League, which means they will be more dangerous for us too."

Manchester City 0-2 Chelsea

Sven-Goran Eriksson: "We have taken a step forward today because we played some good football against Chelsea. While we made a slow start and conceded an early goal, we then created more chances than them in the first half. I am less depressed now than I was last week."

Avram Grant: "For the past three months we have won almost 80% of our league games. That is the record of champions and we have come a long way when you consider a lot of clubs were ahead of us during the season. But United are also doing well. I do not think, though, they will win until the end of the season."

Fulham 1-3 Sunderland

Roy Hodgson: "The only thing I could say remotely positive is that they kept going. I'm devastated by the result, I'm really saddened by it and sad that we couldn't win a game we believed we could."

Roy Keane: "We can still be caught. We are in a much better position than we were three weeks ago but we have tough game (Manchester City) coming up and obviously we are not safe. We shouldn't be dancing in the streets after winning three games in a row."

Blackburn 1-1 Tottenham

Mark Hughes: "It was a penalty. David [Bentley] has picked up the ball in the midfield area and burst forward with real purpose at the heart of their defence. [Gilberto] has obviously stood in front of him and actually made a move with his leg to make sure David went down."

Juande Ramos: "From the bench it is hard to see, there were a lot of players around and sometimes on these incidents it is hard to make a call."

Aston Villa 4-0 Bolton

Martin O'Neill: "We had hit the buffers [the win snapped a three-game winless streak]. We played so well at Arsenal a month ago and if someone had said then we would collect only one more point from the next four games, I would not have believed it. It was hard to explain the home performances against Middlesbrough and Sunderland after the way we played at Arsenal."

Gary Megson: The fact is we are on an awful run with just one point from the last eight games which has seen us slip into this position. But I don't think anyone is giving up and I would be disappointed if that was the case."

Newcastle 3-0 Reading

Kevin Keegan: "I am looking forward to my holidays, to be honest with you - but not yet. It would be nice if we could finish the season by continuing to play and enjoy our football like we can and send the people here away for their holidays thinking, 'Wow, next season could be very, very good for Newcastle United'."

Steve Coppell: "We came in 2-0 down at half time and in a way I was thinking, 'How did that happen?'. But that's probably why we are where we are. We are down at the bottom because those kind of things do happen."

Wigan 2-0 Birmingham

Steve Bruce: "We can't say that we're safe until it's mathematically safe. It's a step closer but we've got a nice easy one next week at Chelsea!"

Alex McLeish: "The lunge has been outlawed in the game. More and more referees are now showing a red card, regardless of contact or not. Every referee has got to now do that, as long as referees do it every time that kind of challenge goes in. Damien, I don't think touched the guy. Kilbane got up very quickly. When you lunge and you bare your teeth, ie show the studs, it can be difficult for the referee not to give a red card."
