Premiership - Manchester City have rewarded Emile Mpenza with a permanent contract following the striker's impressive performances since joining the club on loan.
The Belgium international signed a short term deal with City after a spell in Qatar and has done enough since January to prove to manager Stuart Pearce that he has a future at Eastlands.
The 28-year-old has signed a year-long deal, with an option for a further three years should he continue to perform well.
"We've been talking to Emile over the last few weeks and he put in a sterling performance again today," Pearce said. "We're pleased he's committed himself to this club. I've been very impressed with him as a man and as a player.
"He's got a good CV, he's scored everywhere he's played and the deal is a no-brainer on his performances since he came here."
