Northampton goalkeeper Chris Dunn insists he is ready to replace Mark Bunn if necessary after making his debut against Tranmere. The 20-year-old made his belated first start for the Cobblers in 2-1 win on Saturday after Bunn injured a hip while training with Manchester City.
Bunn has been linked with a move to a bigger club all season after an inspired run of form and Dunn feels he is ready to make the step up on a full-time basis.
He said: "I was really pleased to get a game and I was glad to show everyone what I can do.
"Mark Bunn is a very good keeper but I wanted the chance to prove what I could do.
"There is always speculation about Mark and if he does move on at any point in the future I hope to be able to kick on and claim the place."
