Manchester United have been given a major lift ahead of their Champions League semi-final with Arsenal as Rio Ferdinand returned to training.

It had been feared the England defender would miss Tuesday's second leg at the Emirates Stadium after suffering damage to his ribs and a bruised lung at Old Trafford last week.
But the presence of Ferdinand on the Carrington training ground on Monday suggests he will face Arsene Wenger's men.
Such was the damage Ferdinand suffered in a collision with Edwin van der Sar that he was coughing up blood in the United dressing room last Wednesday.
He spent the night in hospital, although scans revealed the £29.1 million England international had not suffered any extensive damage to his ribs.
Ferdinand was left out of Saturday's trip to Middlesbrough but given the importance of Tuesday's game, when United will attempt to defend a single goal lead, Sir Alex Ferguson wants the former West Ham skipper if at all possible.

i root 4 united!
I hate Man U alot and I love EPL alot but am confused who can handle Barca if Chelsea fails morrow.Ofcourse the Mighty Reds would have handled Barca iff...Am sceptical if the Gooners can, so without mixing minds ManU can manage Barca. But now that am a Mighty Red fan and you know the implication I have for ManU and the love for EPL,so if Chelsea fails,ManU should try and if Chelsea wins, then I wish the Gooners wins tonite
Manchester United to win a close contest to progress to the final.

In the Champions League, who holds the record for the longest unbeaten run? Is it Barcelona? NO! Is it Real Madrid? NO! Is it Juventus? NO! Is it AC Milan? NO! Is it Bayern Munich? NO! Is it Chelsea? NO! Is it Liverpool? NO! I will put you out of your misery and tell you that it is the one and only MANCHESTER UNITED. Enough said.

sir balex bin dipper - your jealous of us.
What we gonna do when sir alex goes?
Get another manager, like Mourinho (2 premier league titles and a champs league)or Moyes, one of the best young managers in the league.
We shall also have the same team - consisting of ferdinand, vidic, rooney, ronaldo, berbatov etc. so I think we shall be ok. We do not fall apart when faced with a problem, unlike the rest of the league. 20 years and going strong.
