Wolves' promotion celebrations have been hampered by the news the Black Country club will not have an open-top bus parade to show off the Championship trophy.
Talks have been under way for some time between Wolves' Safety Advisory Group, which includes Wolverhampton City Council, West Midlands Police and other emergency services.
However, despite the best efforts of everyone involved, it has been decided the number of health and safety issues needed to overcome in such a small amount of time was too great to get the idea off the ground.
Chief executive Jez Moxey explained on the club's official website: "After lengthy discussions we have taken the view that we would need a lot more time to plan a safe parade - time that we just don't have in order to keep it current.
"We area living in a very different culture when it comes to health and safety issues. Last time when the parade took place in 2003 it was the council who took responsibility, but the onus now falls on us to take full liability for any problems which might occur on the streets of Wolverhampton. And simply put, we do not possess the required expertise to manage such an event safely.
"The secondary issue has also been that since we clinched promotion there has already been plenty of opportunity for supports to celebrate. Thousands upon thousands of fans have been able to share in the achievements of 2008/09 and, while it is unfortunate we are unable to add to it with a bus tour, we hope everyone understands the reasons behind the decision."

Andrew yet again you have shown yourself to be a little man! Just because cardiff blew it big style ( A true mickey mouse club) You will see yet again Wolves fans not agreeing with the board or council.
Moxey you are a prize prat! You have embarrassed this club enough you tight wad.
It is with a heavy hart to say that there will be no parade , it was great the last time around , some good memories , but to be fair to Jez Moxley he was bitterly disapointed , though it was great to see 5,000 fans in the west park ,I made it down for 2o minutes , it was a real carnival atmosphere , some more good memories to follow.
izu. you are a bit of a plonker! learn the players name mate then you would not look so silly!
What a disgrace Jez Moxey is not a football man but a money grabbing W**KER...a few years back when he was at Stoke City he buggered that club up and the day he arrived at Wolves FC i've been holding my breath...he doesn't give a @#$% about the fans the players or what Wolves FC means to people...just there to line his pockets!!!
Wish he would P*SS OFF
Wolves Til I Die
With The Increase Of Money Generated In The Town By The Wolves Sucess, The Council Should Hang Their Heads In Shame. It`s Up To Every Supporter To Express Their View With Their Local Representative.
moxey got no balls, fickung wenkar,
health and safety are nothing but a load of%^$%^ com on give the fans a parade
You cant organise a parade !!what chance organising staying in the prem?? you didnt have a parade because you cant ban away fans from being there!!! micky mouse club....
another moxey buggar the team think of the money we can save with no recognition of what the team has done . i bet his bonus has been increased and his wages . as he said why should the players equal his wages and bonuses . they are there to be bought and sold as he pleases . hes an arrogant money grabbing self righteus prat . get rid befor he sells the team
Wolves's season as a whole was already a parade, so there is no need to do another; we are still celebrating.

its a pity wolves cant have a parade but up here in scotland celtic and rangers win everything and neither are ever allowed these so called parades wolves should just open their stadium for free for fans who want to praise their heroes
That's ok. Have an open-top bus parade when you win the Premiership. ;)
