QPR caretaker-manager Gareth Ainsworth believes the club has a squad capable of mounting a promotion challenge next season.
Rangers ended a season of turmoil, where Iain Dowie and Paulo Sousa were both sacked, in 11th position 13 points off the play-offs and Ainsworth, who is in the running for the job on a permanent basis, is excited by next season's prospects.
"This season has not been a failure, it's disappointing we didn't make the play-offs," he told the club's official website.
"I believe with a few additions next season, QPR will be around the play-offs.
"It's very mouth-watering to see what we can do next year. I really do think we've got the tools to give it a go next season."
