Spiller looks for fresh start

Tue 05 May, 05:13 PM

Millwall's Danny Spiller is looking for a new club in a bid to make a fresh start from his injury nightmare.

The 27-year-old midfielder has been restricted to just six league starts in his two years at The Den, where he has been a victim of a misdiagnosis of a hip injury, that saw him undergo two unnecessary hernia operations.

Boss Kenny Jackett told Spiller that he won't be offering him a new deal and he is now looking for a new club.

"It has been very, very frustrating to have wasted so long on a misdiagnosis," he told the South London Press.

"I have missed such a lot of football in the last two years but I know I am not going to struggle to pick up my career.

"I am looking for a new start and this is an important time for me."
