Chesterfield have completed the signing of defender Kevin Austin on a two-year deal from League One champions Swansea City.The 35-year-old, who can operate as both a centre-half or full-back, was able to join the Spireites after he was released from the 12 months he had remaining on his contract at the Liberty Stadium.

Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson said: "I am really delighted that Kevin has agreed to join us as he is another player who will bring much-needed experience into the squad.

"He was highly thought of by Swansea so I am really pleased they were able to agree to his release."

Austin made 29 appearances for Swansea last season as the Welsh club secured their place in the Championship.
