Thu 05 Jun, 04:45 PM

Burnley operational director Brendan Flood insists the Championship club are working behind the scenes to sign new players. The Clarets have yet to recruit any new faces during the close-season but Flood predicts a flurry of activity in the coming weeks.

He hopes to have brought in several players ahead of the club's pre-season tour to the USA in early July.

Flood said: "Owen (Coyle) is after six or seven players and will try and get them of the best possible quality he can.

"He doesn't want to compromise on his objectives at the moment and has a very clear list of what he wants.

"I think it's exciting there are people who want to come to Burnley but we want to get the best players."
