New Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has confirmed key members of his backroom team at Blackburn will join him at Eastlands. With Hans Backe and Tord Grip among those leaving City this week in the wake of Sven-Goran Eriksson's departure, Hughes has plenty of scope to bring in new faces and having built a trusted coaching team at Blackburn, Hughes is keen not to break it up.
No names have been mentioned officially but it is thought long-time number two Mark Bowen, plus goalkeeping coaches Kevin Hitchcock and Eddie Niedzwiecki will all join Hughes at City as he begins the task of fulfilling the ambitions of owner Thaksin Shinawatra.
"People will be leaving Blackburn to join me, which I am really pleased about because they are key to how I work and it was important to keep that backroom together," said Hughes.
