Ruud hopeful on deal for Ronaldo

Thu 05 Jun, 03:15 PM

Ruud van Nistelrooy believes Real Madrid will eventually sign Cristiano Ronaldo as they are "a club which signs the best in the world".A day after club president Ramon Calderon conceded the signing of the Manchester United star would be impossible, Real striker van Nistelrooy told Marca that Ronaldo would be a great signing for the Primera Liga winners.

He said: "He'd be an important signing for Madrid because this is a club which signs the best players in the world, and that's what Cristiano is.

"Cristiano could bring a lot of things to this club. He's young, he has everything and a long sporting career ahead of him.

"For Madrid he would be a great signing."

The 31-year-old also praised his Holland team-mate Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who is another player being linked with a summer move to the Spanish capital.

"He has scored a load of goals in Holland," van Nistelrooy added.

"He's your typical number nine, he's got the lot. Good with his head, with both feet. He has a great future outside of Holland."

  1. bankdot2003.... its blatently evident that you are an idiot who would sell his soul to the highest bidder. The boy has a contract, which makes it uniteds wish to sell him or not. I say that fergie and the owners saying they would rather bench him than sell him shows how much of balls they have. For once somebody is not being bullied by money. Hats off to the united management.

  5. I think Ruud is one of the best, we can see it during the past two years in Madrid...

  6. let me get this clear bankdot2003. You are saying is that if ManU had played all season with just 10 men, and the one left out all season was the top scoring player in the Premiership...

... they would still have come 5th.

Now that is a real compliment to a great side.

  7. I dont know why all this cry from united and their fans. This is one thing that makes me hate this team and everything it stands for. From the manager down to the least of their so called fans. they think they own the whole world. Thank God for clubs like real Madrid and money bag like the Russian guy at the stamford. United used to swagger around before buying anything in sight with their rivals like Arsenal been thrifty when it comes to spending. Now they get teams to show them they are just another team, far from being the biggest or richest around. I chuckle to see them running around like a wet headless chicken because Ronaldo wants to play for the bigges team in the world. Ferguson thinks he is the best thing that has ever happened to humanity since the advent of slice bread. His bubble is about to burst and he knows it, these fans know it and better still Ronaldo knows it. It is only an ignorant and a moron who will believe that man united would have amounted to anythig during the just concluded season without that boy Ronaldo. Subtract his performance, determination, skills, vision and GOALS from united team and united would have ended in 5th position, behind liverpool. He stood shoulder high above his mates. They are nowhere near him. Rooney, Nani, Anderson mention them they are not worth of untieing Ronaldo's booth. The guy has served you well, what else do you want from him?. He gave you the double. He has nothing to prove again. No bigger silver ware to win with united. No more challenges here please for God sake let him realise his childhood ambition. He wants the best club, the biggest and most successive of them all - Real Madrid. Why are you comparing sleep with death, just because in both cases man stays in the recumbent position. United is no real Madrid. This should be obviou by now, why did Henze leave, golden boy Becks rejected other clubs. From now on whenever Ronaldo sneezes you must all catch cold and I love it. We all do at Emirate. Abbey

  8. this type of poaching isunworthy thats a laugh coming from a manc all i have to say is people in glass houses shouldnt throw stones and also what goes around comes aroun d eh

  9. sounds like sour grapes to me too! By saying this he is saying he himself is one of the best in the world because thats all Real Madrid have "the best in the world" well we didnt miss you Ruud.

From kazmariewall, on Thu 5 Jun 7:12PM
  10. Well all i can say is that some players are never loyal to their team, With Ruud saying some thing like this i think they are all planning to see us fall after all. One thing i want every united fans to know is that we are going to be great even if we lose him and United we stand ... The stronger we are always. I can't believe wht have just read this that he openly say it that we he will like to play for Madrid if they are willing to pay wht we want ... That is bad of the best player a team wants and he is killing so many hearts at the club i can't imagine him saying that and he has really shown us that he is has never been loyal to us right from day one.

If he wants to go i think sir should let him go coz we are blessed with having the best 7 in the world... We all liked him it's why we want him to stay but if he feels he don;t want to put on our red no 7 any more we will find some one else and give it to him ... am sure he will also score much more than him in years to come and he will break his record.

    From clmn02, on Thu 5 Jun 7:05PM
  11. if you want to go ronaldo then get lost.im sick of footballers forgetting the loyalty shown to them by clubs and fans.if he wanted to stay he would have come out and said how much he loves the red shirt.if im wrong then im sorry for saying what im saying, but if all the rumours are true, then i hope your career goes down the pan ronaldo, you deserve nothing for the way you have acted.

    From jocky.nelson, on Thu 5 Jun 6:01PM
  12. Ruud left Manchester United under a cloud, and this after Fergie had kept faith with him after his horrific injury. To make a statement like this is a pitiful attempt at revenge on his former club.
This type of poaching is unworthy of such a great club as Real, but if they want to play dirty...........!
It will serve Ronaldo (and Real Madrid) right if the best player in the world serves the rest of his contract in the reserves.
