Inter Milan technical director Marco Branca has revealed new manager Jose Mourinho is not looking for a new striker, appearing to rule out a swoop for Chelsea frontman Didier Drogba.
Mourinho was confirmed as Inter boss earlier this week and has already admitted he may raid Stamford Bridge for some of his former players.
Drogba's future has been the subject of much speculation but it appears as though he is not a top target for Mourinho despite their close working relationship.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Mario Balotelli, Hernan Crespo, Adriano and Julio Cruz are already at Inter to compete for places and Branca does not expect any new forwards to arrive this summer.
"Mourinho has not asked us for any strikers," Branca said in the Daily Mirror.
"There will only be a few arrivals, we already have an excellent squad.
"Mourinho hasn't asked for many players - two or three players at the most."
Drogba's Chelsea team-mates Michael Essien, Frank Lampard, Ricardo Carvalho and Ashley Cole have all been linked with Inter and Branca is anticipating some movement from Stamford Bridge to the San Siro.
However, he does accept that it will be difficult to convince Chelsea to part with any of their star players.
He said: "It's always much better if those players want to leave, but clubs want to keep their best players.
"There's a list. We will do whatever is possible to please Mourinho but we have to see what the costs are.
"We have to wait because there are going to be log negotiations until we get to the right price.
"If there is a player to get from Chelsea, they will decide the price."
