Real To Offer Ron £300k A Week - Report

Thu 05 Jun, 01:09 PM

Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to offer Cristiano Ronaldo an astonishing £300,000-a-week after tax to move to Spain.

The Spanish giants are desperate to persuade 42-goal Ronaldo to leave the European champions in a mind-boggling move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

But United say they're confident he'll stay, and will fight all attempts to prise their star asset away from Old Trafford.

Although Ronaldo has yet to publicly confirm that he wants to leave United this summer, Real are preparing to up the ante by making it clear they are willing to make him the highest-paid footballer in the world.

According to The Daily Express: 'The five-year contract on the table is worth a mind-boggling £75m' and 'Real have also made it clear that the huge offer will not be on the table in a year's time.'

Real president Ramon Calderon is currently riding high in terms of popularity in Madrid.

His side have been crowned Spanish champions twice in two seasons since he took over at the Santiago Bernabeu.

And he sees signing Ronaldo as the perfect way to build on recent successes.

United have lost three players to Real in recent seasons, with David Beckham, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Gabriel Heinze all leaving for the Spanish capital.

Meanwhile Thursday's papers claim that Real could face competition in the chase to sign Ronaldo, with their bitter rivals Barcelona ready to join the race.

The Catalan giants are set to offload some of their under-performing stars, with Ronaldinho potentially heading for Manchester City.

  1. Ha Ha, What is so great aboutReal Madrid ? They don\t produce best footballers in the
world but keep on buying best footballers in the world. They should produce their own talent and let the world
knows that they are real world class football club. Frankly speaking I do not like to
watch Real Football so boring and with all the big names and even cannot get into the
final of the Champions League.I am also sick of reading from the internet Ronaldo headlines going to Real Madrid. If he wants to go to Real Madrid he shouldn't sign
the contract last year. As a proffessional act as a proffessional and leave the club
with your head high as a proffessional and be remembered.

  3. I THINK MARTIN SEEMS TO HAVE A REAL PROBLEM WITH THE SUCCESS THAT ALEX FERGUSON AND MAN UTD HAVE ENJOYED OVER THE YEARS(MUST BE A SCOUSER!)RONALDO WILL NOT IMPROVE AS A PLAYER AT MADRID AS ONLY FERGUSON HAS BROUGHT THE BEST OUT OF HIM AND HAS BROUGHT HIM THROUGH SOME HARD TIMES,CAN THAT BE SAID OF THE FURTURE MANGER OR FIVE MANAGERS WHICH HE WILL PLAY UNDER AT MADRID.IF HE HAS ANYTHING ABOUT HIM HE WILL HONOUR HIS CONTRACT AND BE FAR MORE SUCCESSFUL AT MAN UTD THAN HE WOULD AT MADRID AFTER ALL WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME MADRID WENT PAST THE QUATER FINALS OF THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.HE IS ALREADY AT THE BEST CLUB IN THE WORLD AND PLAYING IN THE BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD YOU CANT GO ANY HIGHER THAN THAT HEY MARTIN!!!!!!!!!

  4. well i think fifa should step in thats a stupid amount of money to give someone for playing football.ronaldo his a fantastic player maybe the best in the world but not worth 300000 pound aweek.as a man utd fan we need to keep are most talented players at the club

  5. as a west ham fan,i say ron is 1 hell of a talent and fergie has brought the best out of him, i say if he wants to go let the little t#at go because his heart wont b in it now even if united dont let him go, but having say let him go united should say a minimum fee of £80 million and then sue the spanish fools for tapping him up when he's under contract then that might make them think twice about wanting to buy him

  8. An obscene amount of money. The world has gone mad! Money could be spent on far better people such as nurses!

Kriest - they do a far more worthwhile job then "fannying all the football field"!

Just proves the sorry point that it's all about money. We should be pouring money into our English kids football clubs, bringing them into the game, not flying kids in from bloody USA and Bulgaria for trials!! The whole sorry FA needs a good kick up the arse.

  13. What about this 3 year contract he signed? Regardless of how good he is, he promised to honour the contract and that's exactly what he should do irrespective of how much money he could make. What is this teaching kids? If you don't like it, just walk away? If he tries to leave, Ferguson should make him rot on the bench like he said he would and teach him a lesson. It's about the TEAM! I reckon it's about time players were made to honour their contracts. They've got the Bosman ruling, how much more do they want? I'm getting tired of seeing players kiss their club's badge on their shirt and, as soon as there's a sniff of extra money, they're off. As if they don't get paid enough as it is.
Pathetic. Sue Real Madrid, sue Barcelona and if he tries to leave sue Ronaldo!

  15. people dont realise that if we offload such a talent as ronaldo ,where do we get a replacment there is no other better player in world football to date real dont really want him it is just jealousy on their part because they havent got a player of his ability.in the ranks ,ronaldo will not go yet as he has to prove himself with utd again so people who comment on websites like this cant call it fluckie when he does the same again then he will leave and then i say good luck and cash in on his vast talent.

  16. First of all Hi! TO ALL THE MAN U FANS!!!! IF RONALDO WANT TO BECOME A SUCCESSFUL PLAYER IN THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL HE WILL STAY IN MAN U! 17. Have we all forgotten what we bought Rooney for? Out and out grsfter. He'd come back to the forefront if we lose Ronaldo.

  18. s.smallwood, Ruud van Nistelrooy has been better than ever since moving to Real, apart from the last 4 or so months when he was injured. I never liked his style of play, but he's still a goal-scoring machine when on the pitch.
Beckham improved his game A LOT at Bernabeu, but came in a bad spell for the team, shich why he only won (almost singlehandedly) one title with Madrid - becoming a football icon and cashing in along the way.
I'm not saying that Fergie hasn't made the right decision in letting all those you mention, but RVN and Becks did quite well after leaving Old Trafford.

From Ivo S, on Thu 5 Jun 2:43PM
  19. Yes go on Ron go to Madrid then the oh so high and mighty can feel how it is for the other clubs in the premiership who have to lose their best players to unscrupulous, money making, business minded...'top' clubs! Face up to it Real Madrid is a bigger club than Man utd, always has been and always will be...the same way the Blackburns and Boltons and Villas etal have to concede that Utd is bigger than them. So shut up you boring, arrogant and ungreatful, so called fans of football. It's not Ronaldo who is disgusting it's people who can't see further than their own nose...in otherwords those at utd who think everyone and everything should bow down to them. It's a game...it's sport...and now to the utd's it's business, you reep what you sow.

From Martin, on Thu 5 Jun 2:41PM
  20. why not sell all the players of all the teams coz we never win anything anyway..

If you did so badly in your job would you still have it?
stupid sums of money that could be better spent elsewhere
