Bundesliga - Khan: Ribery could be a danger to Bayern

Eurosport - Fri, 05 Jun 11:34:00 2009

Franck Ribery could pose more a problem than a solution for his club Bayern Munich with his want-away attitude, according to former team-mate Oliver Kahn.

FOOTBALL 2008-09 Bundesliga Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery - 0

"Ribery is not without danger for the club," the former Germany goalkeeper told the tz daily newspaper.

"A player who constantly plays with the idea of leaving for Real Madrid, Barca or elsewhere, always makes things more nervous.

"You have to seriously consider this issue, otherwise a player becomes more a problem than a solution for a club."

Kahn, who played with Ribery during his final season as a player in 2007-8, said the former Marseille striker, a potential target of Real, Barca and Manchester United, must change his behaviour.

"Bayern have given him the chance by recruiting him to become one of the best players in Europe."

Ribery is under contract with Bayern until 2011, and the club's management have been keen to stress that he is not for sale.

  5. Ribery should never have joined Bayern in the first place at a time when many top teams were chasing his signature. He realized that after joining them.

  10. If they are going to keep him against his will, the same thing is going to happen what happened to Ballack. He will just run his contract down and then leave for free.

  11. I don't nderstand why clubs like to humiliate themselves by turning down players desire to leave them. Obviously, if they feel they wanna leave and there are the good conditions in the market to get past this transfer it is for the benefit of everyone. But clubs managers wanna be stuburn and think they are too powerful with a contract in their hands. Grow up. we shall see how long that goes...

  12. Well if Ribery wants away why not let him go cash in on him why keep a player at the club who wants away and is'nt interested and the team might not get 100% from him because of this want away attitude.
