Manchester City are alleged to be preparing bids for Samuel Eto'o, Diego Forlan and Carlos Tevez, but do you think they are doing the right thing?
After all this, City will have more players than positions, which would be fine except these players are all the kind of guys who would expect to start every game, especially at a club like City who are not playing in Europe.
So who will make way? Mark Hughes is almost certainly going to cut his losses on perma-crock Craig Bellamy, while Micah Richards could make way for Kolo Toure after failing to live up to early promise.
And what about Robinho? With Eto'o, Forlan and Tevez, will City play a 4-3-3 and rotate the four or will they sell the volatile Brazilian?
Also, what will happen to the likes of Shaun Wright-Phillips and Martin Petrov if City switch to a midfield three?
Is it a positive attempt to build a title-challenging team or wild, profligate spending with no real strategy? Should they tear the current squad apart or try to build on last season with a couple of signings and focus on improving team-work? Have your say by clicking on the link below the photo our message boards!
Doddy: "It's ok scoring goals but the defence needs to stop letting in silly goals so buy some good defenders! The midfield is the most important area, we need width and a good holding player. You have to get - and keep - the ball before you can score so play 4-4-2 not 4-3-3 as the extra attacker means a narrower midfield and leaves our flanks open. We also need some height for the set-pieces or crosses."
Yip (a Chelsea fan): "I think they will sign a striker and then concentrate the rest of the market time on defence. Which is fair enough. If they sign even a couple of the players they are linked with they could easily win the league next season. Can I ask everyone who claims to see players at airports and stuff to stop talking such ****, it never once came true. Pointless drivel!"
Khairyazlan: "Forget Eto'o, just target Tevez and Forlan, both of these players already know english football. City must focus on defending too. I think Gary Cahill, Joleon Lescott, and Steven Taylor are suited enough and their price also not too expensive. My first eleven choice is GK: Given; CB: Onuoha, Cahill; LB: Bridge; RB: Richards; CM: De Jong, Barry, Ireland; LW: Robinho; RWF: Tevez/SWP; CF: Forlan/Bellamy."
victash4real: "It isn't about making hasty purchases without thinking out what formation the team will be playing. What makes Man City think they can get such high-profile players when they are not playing in Europe next season? Maybe the Kaka lesson is not enough for them to know that not all players that are after the money, which is the only thing City have to offer."
azim110894: "I think Sparky will get one more Super Striker, my guess is Tevez then he'll get a secondary striker to fill in as a replacement in case of injuries. But in case he wants to switch 4-3-3 he'll get Eto'o. If I were Sparky,I'd get Higuain though."
concerned: "1 Get rid of Hughes and his so called coaches. 2. A world class central defender is required. 3. A world class goalscoring centre forward."
garethtait1: "Why? Diego Forlan? Now Lucas Neill too! Gosh this is a lack of ambition and I am sure Forlan could score goals but he's getting old now. I don't understand this Man City, the club with unlimited transfer funds it seems and they want to sign Forlan why? Eto and Tevez would be good captures Mark Hughes should pursue these two but Lucas Neill and Forlan come on..."
rgold85 (An Arsenal fan): "I wouldn't be surprised if Manchester city end up signing Kaka because last year Chelsea looked the favourites to sign Robhino and then City stole him. I do hope they sign Tevez he's a great striker and I love watching him play football."

I feel they can go for tevez and any one of the two, however I personally will prefer etoo because of his pace and strength.wit etoo, robinho, tevez, wright philip, barry man city will break into the big 4.
The best option for Manchester City is to buy all the world best players and loan them back to their respective clubs so that they will not be eligible to play them when they meet so eventually Manchester City will be the champion of Europe or even the world. Ha! Ha! Can money buy success ???
No matter what, they should get rid of Mark Hughes! he isnt good for the job and he is only bringing in stupid non starts like belamy! where is the youth? he is already pushing them out... look at that danial sturridge! and the other youths that has already left! stupid!
I think they will sign a striker and then concentrate the rest of the market time on defence. which is fair enough. If they sign even a couple of the players they are linked with they could easily win the league next season.
can I ask everyone who claims to see players at airports and stuff to stop talking such s hite, its never once came true. pointless dribble!
blueboy_mcfc you little scummer. At least we won 3 european cups before losing a final as opposed to your excellent record of never appearing in the champions league at all. Cinema of nightmares? At least our ground is more well known for its football than its pop concerts!! Tevez?? Wouldn't wipe his a*se on a little @#$% club like yours, pathetic little wannabees acting like the spoilt rich kid at school
just buy ricardo calvalho...since he wanted 2 go away from chelsea!!!
Agree with big10, dunne out an tevez in, kompany an nedum in the middle would do !! Why is it that all the rags come here to comment ? life at "The cinema of nightmares" that bad ? o`well lads you know what the lyrics altogether now " always look on the bright side of life 2-0 2-0 2-0 2-0 " hahahahahaha BARCA 2 -0 SCUM
its ok scoring goals but the defence needs to stop letting in silly goals so by some good defenders , the midfield is the most important area we need width and a good holding player , you have to get and keep the ball before you can score so play 442 not 334 as the extra attacker means a narrower midfield and leaves our flanks open . we also need some height for the set pieces or crosses
Just sign everyone that's on the market, and stop all this bull..........
a decent no nonsense center half and one striker
I believe ManCity has already spent enough money with the Robinho buy. I believe what they need now is a top class coach to lead them to Champions League Soccer. They have enough to go with. The 7 shirted baldy is great in Mid. Ireland is what they call him. Robinho has to polish up his finishing. Eto'o isn't too different with his near misses sometimes.
With Eto'o, Forlan and Tevez adding to the list, they will most likely have only an attack in their good books. What about a midfield that is possible of rotation? What about a defence? At least, ManCity should set their sights on either challenging the FA Cup, or playing Champions League soccer next season. They could not even handle little UEFA Cup pressure let alone expect them to get to
I think Sparky will get one more Super Striker, my guess is Tevez then he'll get a secondary striker to fill in as replacements in case of injuries like Aguero, i hope for Forlan since he's opting for a club can give him better wages, but in case he wants to switch 4-3-3 he'll get Eto'o, If I were Sparky, ill get Higuain, the young Real Striker.
For midfielders..... tough one, since many target of his are strikers xD. hope for Wright-Phillips stays but Petrov out and some powerful wingers come in like Quaresma 0.0? Bellamy will out to Newcastle if he's available for low price. Elano definite out probably involving a player exchanges.
I dont dare rumours on DEF and GK. Remember this name in case any rumours come true, ill be posting more =D
Azim, 15 yo bloke
why don't they just stop spending their money like nobody's buisness and get their coaches and staff better so the players can train better
Man city let them go back to the root
Em khairyazlan Forlan was s*** when he played in the premier league with man u
They should buy frank ribery, Kiran Benzema and if possible Messi. they shouldn't buy Ronaldo off Man U. I think hes @#$% and Im a Man U fan. They should let Ireland be captain after the season he had
Once again it's Man City "speculation" time!!!.... we have had to put up with @#$% in the papers and on yahoo for months... lets wait and see eh??
big10 totally agree. Brewer9316 why are you wasting time on my clubs page when you should be one click to the next badge and spurt your drivel there??
any one to Reply
Mancity if they Money like salt then they should buildup there own players
they would be LIKE BARCELONA IF THEY GET ETO FORLAN AND TEVEZ AND KOLO TOURE
