Barton keen to remain at Newcastle

Fri 05 Jun, 09:14 AM

Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton is eager to stay with the club following their relegation from the Barclays Premier League.

The former Manchester City player was told to stay away from Newcastle's training ground in the wake of their 3-0 defeat at Liverpool late in the season, after he was red-carded.

Barton told The Chronicle: "I don't know what is going to happen with the club or with the manager situation."

He continued: "I'm just looking forward to going back and my intention is to stay at the club and help Newcastle back into the Premier League.

"If Alan Shearer takes the job and if he doesn't want me then my hands are tied. All I can do is try and get as fit as possible, but I have got to prepare for all eventualities."

  5. WE SHOULD HAVE SACKED HIM AND TOOK THE SITUATION TO THE COURTS. WIN OR LOSE, WE WOULD HAVE WON SOME SYMPATHY FROM THE FOOTBALL COMMUNITY AND EVERY OTHER DECENT PERSON IN THE COUNTRY. BY KEEPING HIM AT THE CLUB, ASHLEY ET AL DAMAGED NUFC'S PROFILE BEYOND THAT THAT EXISTED PRIOR TO HIM GETTING BANGED AWAY. IT WAS A MISSED OPPORTUNITY. NOT SACKING BARTON COST ASHLEY MORE MONEY THAN IT WOULD HAVE COST HIM IF HE'D JUST TOED BARTON UP THE HOOP AND TOLD HIM TO DO ONE. BARTON = NAKKA. ASHLEY = NAKKA. AND NOW WE'RE NAKKAD.

  8. BARTON PICKS ON KIDS AND LITTLE SKINNY FELLAS. SOME NASTY B@@@ ARDS SHOULD POP ROUND TO JESMOND, WHERE I THINK HE LIVES, AND SHOW HIM THE WAY TO THE NEAREST OUT PATIENTS DEPARTMENT. THEN PUT HIM ON THE TRAIN BACK TO WHATEVER MICEY TOWN HE COMES FROM. PREFERABLY IN A COMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. FACTS TO BE REMEMBERED: IN 1987, SUNDERLAND WENT INTO THE THIRD DIVISION. IN 2003, UNDER MICK MCCARTHY, SUNDERLAND WERE RELEGATED FROM THE PREMIERSHIP WITH 19 POINTS. A RECORD ONLY TO BE SURPASSED BY DERBY CO.

IF WE HAD A CHAIRMAN WITH INTEGRITY AND A REAL DESIRE TO RUN OUR CLUB AS A PROFESSIONAL CONCERN, I CAN ONLY THINK OF ONE SINCE I STARTED SUPPORTING NUFC IN 1973, ( JOHN HALL - even a bit dodgy himself ) AND WE WERE INSTALLING STEVE BRUCE AS OUR MANAGER, THEN I'D BE MORE THAN HAPPY. HE'LL NO DOUBT DO A DECENT JOB. BUT I CAN'T HELP THINKING ABOUT THAT CLASSIC JIMMY NAIL SONG. " I DON'T WANT NOBODY ELSE. I LOVE YOU. ( S ) HE'S LYING." OR WHEN BOWIE CAME ON STAGE AT JOKER PARK BACK IN THE 80'S ( GLASS SPIDER TOUR ) AND SAID, " HELLO NEWCASTLE." STEVE MAN. HAVE YOU BECOME COLOUR BLIND. THEM GEEZERS ARE WEARING RED AND WHITE. NOT BLACK AND WHITE - YOU FOOL. MR T SHOULD TELL HIM TO " STOP ALL OF HIS JIBBA JABBA."

OH BY THE WAY, REGARDING MIKE ASHLEY. JOHN HALL HAS RECENTLY STATED THAT “What you have to acknowledge though, is that Newcastle’s decline had actually begun before Ashley arrived at the club. Some of the managers have been disasters and ruined the club long before he came in.” THAT'S RIGHT SIR JOHN. AND THE MAN WHO MADE THESE DISASTROUS APPOINTMENTS WAS FREDDY SHEPHERD, AND, TO A LESSER EXTENT, YOUR SCUM BAG SON. AND, MOREOVER, YOU ALL WALKED AWAY FROM NUFC WITH 10'S OF MILLIONS. WHAT DID SHEPHERD EVER DO TO JUSTIFY HIM LEAVING OUR CLUB WITH 33 MILLION QUID? FU@@ ALL. THE MAN IS A DISGRACE....

  11. Sunderland have a new manager called Bruce
on their team he's about to be let loose
I doubt the fans will be pally

will his neck be too fat for a noose?

Who thought he would manage the reds

There stood an old monkeys heed

  13. Very funny John, especially the last line ... there's more chance of Mike Ashley selling your mess of a club for a profit (or even a small loss) than of you getting promoted, unless of course you are referring to some future date when you return to the Championship form League One (coz that's where you're heading come the end of next season). I've said it before and I'll say it again, I feel really sorry for You lot, you're so delusional. I bet some of you still don't believe you've been relegated and are planning for Europe next season!!

  15. Its a shame you don't seem to want him to stay because like it not, you're stuck with him. No-one else wants him (Sam Allardyce, conspicuous by his silence), you can't afford the financial hit of giving him a free so poor sad old boring Mary Poppins will have to eat his words if he is to be your Manager for next season. You going to have to build your team around him, that's trip to Leeds, MK Dons then Millwall for new players then!! So sad, it almost makes want to cry. A little ditty to cheer myself up ...
He's only a poor little Magpie,
His feathers all tattered and torn,
His team's down and out, spat his dummy out,
He wishes he hadn't been born!
    Aah, that's better.

  16. The oxygen thief has no where else to go,that's why he wants to stay and oh yeah the 50k a week may also be in the back of his mind.

  17. The best thing Shearer or anyone else that takes over is to rid their books of that jailbird scumbag. He should be playing in the conference on a wage of about £200 a week. As a Man City fan I am so glad he is no longer our problem, violence seems to run through his family's blood. Let him rot in some non league team.

    From phil_kasteel, on Fri 5 Jun 12:57PM
  18. If he really cared he would show some sort of good faith and offer to take a pay cut to stay rather than insist he is staying on full wages after all the rubbish Newcastle and City have been through with him. Still he is probably just making sure that he doesn't miss out on his cut of the transfer fee a second time as he did when he put a transfer request in at City. Greedy Bar-Steward!

From Scottie, on Fri 5 Jun 12:53PM
  19. this bloke is a thug, plaine and simple. why would any club want to pay 60k a week for someone who has missed half the games he's been eligible for due to his own desire to hurt people for no reason? get rid of him now, cut your losses and use the 60k to pay the wages of two decent law abiding players. there is no place in professional footbal for this violent thug.

    From frankiethebear2002, on Fri 5 Jun 12:18PM
  20. Barton is just playing the game. If he states that he wants to stay, then we will have to pay up his contract to get rid of him. If he says he wants to leave then we sell him and his contract will be terminated as he will have breached it.
In my view he has breached his contract from the moment he signed it. In the two years he has been with us he has missed numerous games, not just because of his countless injuries (funny how he was fit to play the moment Big Al took over) but because of his prison term, suspentions, bans and court appearances from incidents at Man City that led to further suspentions. All through this, we paid him £60.000 a week and even though the whole world thought that was scandelous, if we refused to pay him his legal team would have taken us to court and won?
Barton like the rest of us knows he's took the pi55 but he's not quite finished yet. He wont be at the Toon next season and we will have to pay him off. What price failure, football is the best industry in the world with massive financial rewards if your cr4p. He like some of his team and sick bay mates have hit the jackpot because of our relegation. Barton is a varment but others like Enrique are doing the same thing to us.
