Macclesfield midfielder Lee Bell is determined to ensure his side hit the ground running when the new season kicks off in August.

The Silkmen endured a desperately disappointing campaign last term but have already bolstered their squad this summer with a number of new recruits.

And Bell says a vast improvement is required at Moss Rose next term.

"We were all disappointed with where we finished last time around, so the first target has to be to improve on that," said Bell.

"I'm not one for setting specific targets but if we can get off to a good start that will be a big plus."
