Roma defender Vitorino Gabriel Antunes has welcomed the prospect of a move to Celtic as it would provide him with Champions League football. His agent claimed earlier this week that the Scottish champions were interested in the left-back.
The 21-year-old has also been linked with Bologna and Chievo but insists he would have no qualms about quitting Italy if it meant the opportunity to play in Europe's elite competition.
"If something happens that allows me to come to Glasgow I would be playing for a massive club in the Champions League," Antunes told the Daily Record.
"That's why I would not regard moving from Italy to Scotland as a backward step in my career.
"If I could come on loan for a year I would be happy. Maybe after that something could be done for me to stay longer."
Meanwhile, both halves of the Old Firm have been linked with a summer swoop for Watford's Danny Shittu.
The Nigerian has reportedly been on Rangers' radar since January but Celtic have also made an enquiry about the £2million-rated defender, according to reports on Saturday.

Well the way Lee Naylor's going at the moment I would say that they really need to buy a left back.
