Manchester City have been further discouraged in their pursuit of Ronaldinho after Barcelona said they would only sell him for the right price.New Barca coach Josep Guardiola is looking ahead to the new season after taking over from Frank Rijkaard but Brazil star Ronaldinho does not figure in his plans.
Barca are ready to listen to offers but insist they will not let him go at a discount.
"Ronaldinho is a player of great value and we will only sell if we get a proper price," vice president Ferran Soriano told reporters.
"If we don't get it, he won't go."
City have been tracking Ronaldinho since the end of last season and are believed to have held discussions with the player's representatives on at least one occasion.
A deal is thought to have been agreed but it is unclear whether the 28-year-old would prefer to move elsewhere.
AC Milan have previously admitted their interest in Ronaldinho but only for a 'reasonable' price.
