Barnsley's latest signing Darren Moore has revealed he almost signed for the club over 10 years ago, and was delighted to get a second chance.The 34-year-old defender was at struggling South Yorkshire rivals Doncaster in 1997, while the Tykes had just won promotion to the Premier League.

Moore told Barnsley's official website: "When Barnsley were promoted to the Premier League, I remember there was a lot of speculation that I could be joining them from Doncaster.

"It was a big thing at the time, but it just never came about because the clubs could not agree a fee.

"It's great to see that the club moved on from that time and used it well by building the great facilities Oakwell has today."
