Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is plotting a football revolution in Europe after calling for the continent's biggest clubs to create a new 'Super League'.
Perez, who returned for a second stint as president of the Spanish giants last month, has embarked on a multi-million spending spree over the past few weeks, signing the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Karim Benzema as part of his plan to assemble a new generation of galacticos.
The 62-year-old is now casting his net even wider in his bid to alter the face of European football, and told Spanish television: "We have to agree a new European Super League which guarantees that the best always play the best - something that does not happen in the Champions League."
Perez added, however, that he hoped his proposed format could be implemented "without abandoning the national leagues".

Perez and Real Madrid deserve each other................he.he.he!
And guess what now that Real are proposing and not the EPL Blatter will love the idea!
if u cant compete with more little club in la liga, hw wud u expct 2 beat bigger clubs in europe??
nonsense Real
#58 err sorry, but i dont think manU have good midfielder, although few could argue barca, chealse or liverpool.
Real madrid dont ave gud enough defender they got gud mid fielders
it doesn't meen that there the best
man utd nd chelsea ave gud mid and defenderz!!
having a super league would be great. i mean, every week we'll see real madrid losing out to other 'weaker' teams and not win anything. that would be really fun :)
He bought Ronaldo and Kaka and now wants the super league??? that sounds like you buy the shoes the shirt and the ball and you are still missing the field. I really wonder if Real is gonna do any better in Champions this year, but doubt it.... If they find a Chelsea or especially Liverpool on the way I would consider them already eliminated
The day there is a so called "Super League", will be the day football dies.
People like Perez can't see further than the end of their noses. They formed the infamous "G14" which was only to help certain clubs. They are money driven and couldn't care less about football as a whole. When Perez was President of Madrid between 2000-2006 his sole ambition was to make Real the richest club in the world. The problem being is you need success on the field as well.
The man is an idiot.
lol...really? I found a place that many players are hoo king up with h ot mo dels, seems the club called: __T all mingle Co M___, do you hear this before?
Perez is an idiot, pure and simple. Real Madrid, its fans and he don't care about football, they don't care about anything but being able to brag about being the best and having the best players. A man who took a team that had won the champions league twice and turned it into a the death pit of famous football players, whilst selling the real heart of the team, will do it again. His plan requires big signings to sell shirts, in the global recession less people with money, Madrid with €500 million debt and adding to it daily, and we all know the spanish govt will bail them out because most of the government are madrid fans, except zapatero who claims to be a barca fan, but doesn't actually like football.
When Madrid get humbled in the champions league again, they'll see that this is not the way forwards, it didn't work for chelsea, it won't work for madrid. Viva proper fair football!
I agree with JohnI, and I want to add to JohnI, comment, that Mons. Michel Platini runs the U.E.F.A. very poorly and when he speaks he's nothing but a fool with empty words.
I can't wait to see Barca beat Real times and times again this coming season and win la Liga title and la Copa del Rey again.I think if Senor Florentino Perez fails, the Blancos committee will kick him out for good and Calderon and Perez will be past history for Spanish football.
REAL MADRID WILL NOT WIN ANY TROPHYS,THEY WILL FAIL.
Super league when you have spent and intend to spend what Perez has done is a farce. Wondered why he wanted to poach every top world player and now we know the answer. He is nothing but a charlatan and his tactics supported by UEFA it seems make a complete mockery of fair play, sportsmanship and integrity.
# 42 ArsenalWinger ....may be PerezReal FITS better
Is this guy looking to destroy football?
Why the governments do not intervene to protect the game. they should implement at least a 100% tax on any transaction fee and a 100% tax on players salaries for any amount exceeds $6m a year …just an idea …..
signing 'stars' doen't always help.......u got to have team spirit......i doubt that real would win the UCL this year!
