Ian Breckin insists he has not returned to Chesterfield to wind down his career.
The 33-year-old defender is back at Saltergate seven years after he left to join Wigan.
"I'm going to try my best here and not just come back for a pension," he told the club's official website.
"I'm not the type of character to come and sit back - I'd rather retire. It's nice to be back. I've had a good career and it's not finished yet."
