Bayern Munich coach Louis van Gaal is looking to end the speculation surrounding Franck Ribery as he believes "it is not good for the club".
The Dutchman, who led AZ Alkmaar to the Eredivisie crown last season, is hopeful the France international will stay at the Allianz Arena but he is also aware the ongoing saga may be disrupting the rest of the squad.
He told the Bild am Sonntag newspaper: "The rumours are not good for Franck, not good for Bayern Munich and not good for me."
He added: "It must be resolved quickly. We must solve the problem but it is not that simple. There are many factors involved, not least the money."
Ribery is being chased by big-spending Real Madrid but Bayern have remained steadfast in their refusal to sell.
However, with the talented playmaker admitting last week he would jump at the chance of moving to the Bernabeu, Bayern's hand may be forced.
"He wants to go, if the reports are correct," added Van Gaal. "I need to speak to him about it."
Van Gaal acknowledged that if Bayern do sell their prize asset, he will have plenty of financial clout in the transfer market, although he refused to admit a new goalkeeper was a priority.
"It could be that we could sign another player," he said. "If we sell Ribery then we will have enough money.
"A good goalkeeper is very important but Jorg Butt and Michael Rensing have made a good impression. A new goalkeeper is not necessarily a priority. It is something I will have to look at in the first two weeks (of pre-season)."

"You cant buy success." I suppose you think the top teams in Europe just have brilliant coaching staff and turn youngsters into world class players. That all the teams start on the same financial level and only the shrewed clubs are able to make a profit. That next season Wolves, Real, Man united and Osasuna all get the same slice of the TV money. The players were bought. They start with more money and have a much higher buying power. Man U and Real will appear more times on live TV than any other teams in thier respective countries..and claim more of the TV cash.
If you think success can't be bought, you are sadly deluded.
The top teams have BOUGHT the success that they have. If they weren't richer than the rest they wouldnt be at the top of thier respective leagues.
Several hundred million euros is what creates Reals and United squad, not love sweat and tears, hard cash.
Like Real proved before. You cant buy success. Duh....
Better Ribery sign for Barca who buy player who they need not buy player because other team wants player. Sell Etoo to Mancity and have Ribery left, Messi right and Henry centre. Buy larm because abidal is slow

i am in spain, real is getting loans vs the value of the club, based on furture marketing and jersy sales...remember, that when these players are dealt, to a club like Madrid, most times they also relinquish a portion of their marketing rights....anyway long story short, some of these transfers are being funded by the banks due to this basic economic formula. and you have to take into account that when the time comes to sell these players Real would have by then made a profit both in monetary and championship terms ^^ :)
anyway, they might not win everything this year, but with Kaka's maturity, Ronaldo's talent an the addition of key players no doubt coming, next year should be a massive year for them...anyway, go GUNNERS :)
