Stockport manager Jim Gannon remains hopeful of signing Wolves midfielder Stephen Gleeson ahead of the upcoming League One season.The Republic of Ireland international, 20, played in last weekend's 2-2 draw with Manchester City at Edgeley Park.

He should complete his loan move to County in time for Saturday's first game of the season at Huddersfield.

Gannon told BBC Radio Manchester: "I just think Wolves are complicating it a little bit.

"There's no need for that to happen yet, I think the player just wants to get out here and play football."
