Corluka Linked With Spurs Switch

Tue 05 Aug, 11:09 AM

Tottenham are reported to have launched a bid to sign Croatia defender Vedran Corluka from Premier League rivals Manchester City.

Corluka only arrived at Eastlands last summer when Sven Goran Eriksson paid Dinamo Zagreb £8million for his services.

The 22-year-old performed well and is now recognised as one of the best right-backs in the top-flight, while he showed in his first season at City he can also play in central defence or even midfield.

Now Spurs are said to have tested City's resolve to hang on to the Croat, who could be tempted by the prospect of linking up with fellow countryman Luka Modric at White Hart Lane.

It now remains to be seen whether new City boss Mark Hughes will be tempted by the prospect of selling Corluka, with the Daily Star claiming the transfer could be worth as much as £9.5million - although The Times estimates the fee at £6.8million.

Hughes has England Under-21 captain Nedum Onuoha in his ranks and so may be convinced to cash in on Corluka and invest elsewhere in his squad.

  1. I think Hughesy would be better off keeping hold of Corluka...he did really well last season and the report states...can also fill in other slots admirably.

A old collegue of mine now works for a firm that have approached me....if I had to work with **** it would do my nut in..they can **** orf!

Just because Modric is at White Hart Lane doesnt neccesarily mean Corluka would "relish" a move there.
