Jay Bothroyd has lit the blue touchpaper ahead of Saturday's highly-charged South Wales derby between Cardiff and Swansea.

Cardiff go into the clash as slight favourites being third in the Championship - eight places and five points above their bitter rivals. But the form of both sides will certainly make for an interesting tussle with the Bluebirds unbeaten in six and the Swans unbeaten in nine.

But when asked for his views about the two in-form teams coming together, Bothroyd told the Western Mail: "Who's in form? Swansea, really? I don't know about that. Where are they in the league? Where are we in the league? Well..."

He continued: "To be honest, since the changes at Swansea, they're not the side they were. They've lost their goalscorer Jason Scotland, they lost Jordi Gomez and they lost their manager - which I think is a massive factor and is showing it by him doing really well in the Premier League at Wigan.

"I don't think they're the side they were and it will be a totally different game than last year - we're looking to go there and beat them."

Meanwhile, duo Ross McCormack and David Marshall have been named in Scotland's squad to face Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium on November 14 where they are likely to come up against team-mate Joe Ledley.
