La Liga - Ronaldo out for fortnight at least

Tests in Amsterdam have shown Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo needs two more weeks of treatment on his injured ankle.

Ronaldo, who has not played since aggravating the problem in Portugal's 3-0 win over Hungary on October 10, was due to return to action around now.

But Real said tests conducted on Wednesday by a doctor in Amsterdam who treated the same ankle last year had confirmed he would require another two weeks of treatment.

That added he would return to consult the doctor, Niek van Dijk, in Amsterdam in 15 days.

Ronaldo is set to miss Saturday's trip to city rivals Atletico Madrid as well as their attempt to overturn a 4-0 deficit against third-tier side Alcorcon in Tuesday's Copa del Rey last-32 second leg at the Bernabeu.

The Portuguese Football Federation earlier played down a report in Spanish sports daily Marca that said the injury will take at least another month to heal, forcing Ronaldo out of the two-legged World Cup play-off against Bosnia.

He could be sidelined for three months if he needs surgery, the paper said.

"Even Marca gets it wrong," federation chief Gilberto Madail said, adding that he was hopeful Ronaldo would play against Bosnia in Lisbon on November 14 and in Zenica four days later.

"Ronaldo wants to play, he will join the squad and will be examined by the medical team.

"The situation is under control as there have been contacts between our coach, the Real Madrid coach, the player and the medical departments."

    As a man utd fan,i feel sorry for the injury ronald has­ been going through since he left utd.Any way life goes­ on,but if i will say,ronaldo should have stayed in utd­ rather than trying for long time ago to leave utd that­ made him what he is today.if not for fergerson,he­ should hv gone last three season ago.A d if im not­ mistaken,ronaldo has not been sidelined because of­ injury when he was in utd for even two weeks.That shows­ at times that we should not be too proud for what God­ has given us in life.He started misbehaving for some­ times in utd when real madrid came calling,its not­ good.This is a boy that was fished out from a poor club­ and brought into light in utd by fergerson,now he knows­ he can join madrid because his mother do want him to­ play now in madrid,where was that his mother when he­ was suffering in sporting lisbon?.if i hv to say,women­ are the real devil that we have in this earth,though­ sorry to say that bc i came out from women.Cristiano­ Ronaldo,u hv to sit down and reason like a man not to­ take advice from women.Be a warrior my friend !!!!.

So how did he spit on united and insult them?­ Even Alan Hansen admits that he was the greatest all­ round attacking player he has seen in the prem lge­ years. Wenger also praised him for scoring against­ pretty much everyone!
