That Sergio Aguero's a bit special isn't he? And the Atletico Madrid striker's brace against Chelsea might just have won him a deal with the London club.
The Spain striker has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, but Chelsea were put off by his astronomical price tag - and wages to match - in the summer.
But Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti was certainly impressed by what he saw on Tuesday night in Madrid, and could be tempted to splurge in excess of £40 million on a player who would give his side an extra dimension.
"I like him," a mischievously grinning Ancelotti said in the Daily Telegraph.
When asked if he thought he can play alongside Didier Drogba, Ancelotti added: "I think Aguero can play with Drogba, for sure."
That's it then. A done deal. Er, perhaps not. Why does everyone seem to have forgotten about the small matter of that 18-month transfer ban?
Moneybags Manchester City have joined the queue of top clubs showing interest in Everton prodigy Jack Rodwell. Neighbours Manchester United are also thought to be interested in the midfielder who can also play at centre-back. (Daily Mail)
City midfielder Stephen Ireland has revealed he thought he was going to die when he was rushed to hospital after complaining of feeling dizzy during a Carling Cup tie against Fulham. (Daily Mirror)
Former Manchester United legend and current reserve team coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is wanted by Norwegian outfit Rosenborg as their new manager. (Daily Mail)
Birmingham have identified Rangers pair Steven Davis and Kris Boyd as January transfer targets. Blues boss Alex McLeish is willing to pay £3m for Davis while Boyd, who is out of contract in the summer, could be picked up for a as little as £1m. (The Sun)
Arsenal youngster Fran Merida could quit the Emirates and head to Atletico Madrid after his agent revealed the midfielder has a penchant for returning to his home country. (Daily Mail)
Benni McCarthy's time at Blackburn could well be at an end, with Sam Allardyce looking to sell the South African striker in the New Year. Portsmouth are interested, but Rovers are unwilling to let him go on loan, meaning a switch abroad is the most likely option. (The Sun)
Portsmouth are leading a three-way chase for Benfica defender Miguel Vitor. Birmingham and Ipswich are also keen on the 20-year-old. (Daily Mirror)
Middlesbrough signalled their intention to hang on to £3m-rated winger Adam Johnson on Tuesday, but Fulham are not to be deterred and have entered the race to win his signature in January. (Daily Star)
The Cottagers are also keen on a Riise family reunion, with a £3m bid lined up to add Roma star John Arne to current Fulham ace Bjorn Helge in January. (Daily Express)
And finally, Fulham fans will be afforded extra protection for Thursday's trip to the Stadio Olimpico in Rome to avoid a repeat of previous trouble involving backside-stabbing Roma ultras and English fans. Shuttle buses will be laid on to get supporters to the ground safely and there will be a seven-hour alcohol ban before and after the game. (Daily Telegraph)

RAY B - lol what planet are you on, Man utd and Real Madrid are the most profitable clubs in the world, the value has gone up since the Glazers have taken over and they can easily afford the interest payments on the loans used to take over the club. The reason they didn't spend big in the transfer window was because of the inflated prices and the amount of talent already at the club. Sore Man shity fan? i think so
"The Spain striker has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, but Chelsea were put off by his astronomical price tag - and wages to match - in the summer."
He's Argentinian isn't he?
@Stevie O Jay - I don't rate Aguero that highly myself but they were hardly tap-ins!
chelsea need a youngster player's to cover senior players. Scott Sinclair should involved with along Sturridge in order to get more experience.
yes the transfer ban was mentioned. blah blah blah. it probably will get at very least shortened to 1 transfer market and in which case most clubs dont sell their best players until the summer. the ban could also be postponed and then we would have to bid huge to get a top player. in any case we dont need anyone so who cares. what happens will happens
anelka inclassable..
United fans cannot see beyond their nose,.. Ur club is Skint, can't u see.. You sold Ronaldo for 80 m, instead of buying quality players wt the money, ur club went for BUY ONE GET ONE FREE sales in Valencia and Owen...
Fran Merida has never played for Atletico Madrid. He is from Barcelona. Get your facts right, dear Eurosport.
Who wrote this anyway? Reda Maher again?
JACK RODWELL wont leave for at least two years. You people get excited over the smallest things.
