Coyle eyeing City win

Thu, 05 Nov 11:39:03 2009

Burnley boss Owen Coyle believes his side can upset the odds and take points off Manchester City when the two sides meet on Saturday.

The newly-promoted side face a daunting trip to Eastlands, not just because of the difference in resources but also because they have failed to pick up a point on the road.

Coyle, however, believes a shock could be on the cards.

"I have no doubts that City can break into the top four," he said. "But with expectations being raised the fans will be looking for honours and all those things that go with it.

"We will pay them the utmost respect but we are capable of getting a positive result.

"My players have to believe in themselves, trust each other and stay focused. If we can do that we can end this run of away results."

  3. If Hughes gets his team selection right and plays Ireland from the start i really can't see Burnley getting a result. No disrespect to a fellow lancastrian side but 3-0 to City.

  10. As a long-suffering City fan, I've come to expect us slipping on huge banana skins like Burnley at home. They did beat United after all.

I can see it being five draws in a row, but I'd like to think City are good enough to give Burnley a good hiding. And man, after four draws, we really need to give out a good ar.se-kicking.
