Rodgers' striker woe

Reading manager Brendan Rodgers is having trouble signing a striker to ease his goal problems.

The Royals boss saw Grzegorz Rasiak score twice at Coventry last weekend but the Pole, Shane Long and Simon Church have scored just five goals between them all season and Rodgers is keen to add some firepower.

He said: "We're getting a good balance to the team but up front is still an area I think about.

"I would definitely be interested in a striker who could come in and help those that I've already got, but they would have to be the right type.

"So what I'm looking for is somebody who can go past people and take defenders out of the game in a central area. If we can identify a striker like that then maybe I will be interested, but we're in no rush. It's on the back-burner."

  1. I think every team in football are looking for a striker like the one Rogers is looking for. Those sort of strikers are few and far between and costs a lot of money in wages, so dream on Rogers.
