Premier League - Malouda fit for Liverpool trip
Chelsea's top scorer Florent Malouda will be fit to face Liverpool this weekend despite manager Carlo Ancelotti claiming on Thursday that he was injured.
The Italian backtracked from his earlier analysis on Friday, in which he said the ankle injury sustained in the win over Blackburn last week would keep the Frenchman sidelined.
"Malouda is available to play, he has recovered very well" said the Chelsea boss, adding that the striker would be in the starting line-up.
Ancelotti also changed his mind over the fitness of Frank Lampard, who had been expected to be fit in time for the trip to Anfield.
"He is not available for this game, we have to take time again," said Ancelotti. "Next week finally he will be ready.
"Now he moved on and started to train, we've taken time to put him 100 per cent fit, it was not an easy problem, this is the only reason.
"We don't want to take a risk. I hope he will be ready against Sunderland."
The Chelsea boss also added that Michael Essien is now a doubt for the match after picking up a toe problem in training.
"It is a little problem but I hope he will be available to play," said Ancelotti. "I think he will travel for Liverpool and we will take a decision Sunday morning."

It's far too early to be sure about anything regarding Liverpool and their new owners.
The youngsters at our disposal might not be Beckhams and Giggs etc etc ,but i do remember United being barren for many seasons and Fergie being very close to the sack.
They turned it around.

If you read the news, talk to rival fans who know their arse from their elbow,or even read news papers,you would know the club gave Martin Broughton carte blanche as far as finding a new owner was concerned.
The club had to meet a deadline to pay debts back before a deadline.
Only when it became clear the deal would leave the two yank twats with nothing ,did they try to block it,because they wanted to bleed as much profit for f*ck all investment.
NESV came in with an offer,that offer was accepted.
Kenny came in with a bid that offered more,but as is in Buisness a gentlemans handshake means something.
He offered an increased bid,but as it plays out didnt have much more money than the NESV buyers combined,if more at all.
And was rightly refused.
He withdrew the bid he thought would give him the club,because he is on the other side of the buisness world.
Those who are buying,those who want to buy,when there is an opportunity to buy a club like Liverpool underhanded measures can occur.(ie) Making a bid while a deal is already being agreed,trying to GAZUMP an offer.
He gave up and we were sold to the buyer the Director agreed to sell to.
There is nothing wrong in this deal ,and in fairness!,I think we have the better of the two buyers,and the previous owners walked away with less.
