Pakistan's Mohammad Asif, who is suspended for a doping offence, broke down in tears on national television and apologised to the nation for his unreasonable behaviour.
Asif, appearing on a talk show on the "Geo Super" sports channel on Friday, admitted he had shamed himself and let down his supporters and Pakistan cricket.
"My behaviour has not been perfect and I have made mistakes after mistake. I am sorry for that to the nation," said Asif who also faces disciplinary action for spending 19 days in detention in Dubai for possession of a banned substance.
Meanwhile, Pakistani Asad Rauf will not be able supervise the first Test between India and England in Chennai from next Thursday due to a visa problem, the umpire has confirmed.
Rauf was appointed for the two Tests between the two nations but since the venues were changed after last week's militant attacks in Mumbai he does not have the requisite visa.
The second test is from December 19 in Mohali.
