Korean Amy Yang clung on to the lead at the LPGA Tour Championship despite firing a one-over-par 73 at Grand Cyprus GC in Orlando, Florida.

Yang struggled on the front nine where a double bogey at the second followed by a bogey at the seventh left her three over par at the turn.

But three birdies on the back half helped repair some of the damage as Sweden's Maria Hjorth closed the gap with a 71.

Second-placed Hjorth also experienced problems as she mixed three bogeys with birdies at the first, third, 11th and 12th holes.

America's Christie Kerr also returned a 69 and shares third spot with joint first-round leader Lee Seon-hwa of Korea, who dropped down the leaderboard following a second consecutive 73.

Laura Diaz of America produced the best round of the day with a 69 that saw her move into fifth place.
