Gray laments his side's weaknesses

Sun 06 Jan, 05:00 PM

Northampton manager Stuart Gray was left with plenty to think about after seeing his team soundly beaten 3-0 at Elland Road by Leeds.Frazer Richardson, Rui Marques and substitute Curtis Weston scored the goals that got Dennis Wise's team back on course for promotion.

They Cobblers restricted to just a couple of second-half chances - Mark Hughes and substitute Ian Henderson going close.

Gray said: "We wanted to try and frustrate Leeds and I think for a time in the first half we did that but when we did have the ball we just gave it away far too cheaply.

"I was very disappointed with the goal we conceded just before half-time because we had good possession of the ball but gave it away needlessly.

"The timing of the goals was disappointing and when we conceded a second at the start of the second half we were then just chasing the game."
