Notts County manager Ian McParland has revealed he is desperately trying to strengthen his squad after losing 2-1 at home to Stockport. The Magpies took an early lead through Stephen Hunt but efforts from Anthony Elding and Liam Dickinson inflicted a seventh home defeat on McParland's side.
"Our home record is killing us, we have to do something about it but that's a lot easier said than done," he said.
"Since I came into this job in October my eyes have been opened about how far the standards of this club have dropped. It's a damned shame and we desperately need an investment of say £3million to turn it around."
McParland has signed two players since the window opened but is disappointed not to have more to enhance the chances of Football League survival.
He added: "I've been on the phone for two days solid but it's very difficult when you have no money and until this club gets some investment we'll continue to struggle."
