Proud boss hails Saddlers effort

Walsall manager Richard Money "couldn't be prouder" of his players following their goalless draw with Millwall in the FA Cup third round. The two League One rivals will meet again at the New Den a week on Tuesday after an entertaining stalemate at the Banks's Stadium.

The Saddlers, hit by injuries and suspension, extended their unbeaten run to 16 league and cup matches but could not fashion a winner.

Money said: "I thought it was an absolutely outstanding performance, especially in the second half, from a team that keeps getting younger and keeps getting better and I couldn't by prouder of my group of players.

"It made for a very exciting cup tie with a bit of blood and thunder to add to it, and fair play to Millwall who defended for their lives to make sure they came away with at least a replay.

"And I, for one, admire things like that. We did everything but score in the second half."
