Carlisle manager John Ward revealed he was always confident his team could win after they came from behind to beat Port Vale 3-2.Paul Harsley and Danny Whitaker both scored for Vale to take them into the break leading 2-0.
But goals from substitute Luke Joyce and a brilliant double strike by winger Simon Hackney clinched a spectacular victory for the Cumbrians.
Ward said: "I've been here long enough now to know the credentials of this team. It wasn't a question of throwing things around at half-time.
"We didn't deserve to be two goals down. It was a case of either feeling sorry for ourselves or coming out fighting and we came back fighting."
"I am delighted with the team. With 23 games gone we are in a terrific position."
