Fernando Alonso's agent has denied reports that the former Formula One world champion was involved in a plane crash in Kenya at the weekend.
The Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera had reported that the Renault driver had escaped unhurt after being in a plane crash in Malindi, Kenya.
It was reported that Alonso and his family were in the process of taking off around 18:00 on Sunday when the private jet touched an airport building and damaged a wing.
However, his agent Luis Garcia Abad has rubbished the claim.
"It seems that the plane took a blow while they were parking it," said Luis Garcia Abad. "Fernando wasn't even inside the aircraft.
"We didn't give it the slightest importance and because of that this commotion surprises us. It doesn't even qualify as an accident."
The two-time world champion was in Kenya for a New Year's Eve party being hosted by Renault boss Flavio Briatore.

Button hurt in plane accident ... seems like the elastic band broke when he was winding up propeller.
Patarac - what case?
Great story from the global media.
McLaren team are feeling on top of the world.
The Woking-based giants have topped a popularity poll ahead of Ferrari and the rest in a wide-ranging survey spanning 160 countries and involving 70,000 people.
The Global Fan Survey, conducted by F1 Racing and banking giant ING, has revealed that McLaren have overturned a Ferrari majority in quite dramatic style, rising from 21% two years ago to 29%.
In the same timescale, Ferrari have dipped from 30% to 28% - with the Lewis Hamilton factor thought to have had a huge impact on the voting.
More than two-thirds of those who took part in the online voting (68%) said that they had followed F1 for 10 years or more and a third said they go to at least one Grand Prix a year. The next favourite outfits, outside of the top two, were Williams and Renault, who each polled 6%.
“For Vodafone McLaren Mercedes to top this global survey of F1 fans is fantastic,” McLaren’s chief operating officer Martin Whitmarsh told F1 Racing.
It's the same old, same old, from the lovely Italian Press. I see the 2008 season hasn't been buried yet.........
as for the welsh,,,shove it up your a$&e,as for alonso, who gives a @#$%,and as for hamilton ,it was one big con,he was the only one who was ever gonna win the title, which stinks of a cover up,as far as i am concerned f1 is as corrupt as the bulgarian mafia``
"i tell you this once my f1 hoes i tell you again ths story must have been made up by the mclaren men. they say mr alonso in the plane crash as they are creating the smoke screen so they can steal more f1 secrets.
FOR THE SAKE OF ALL THAT IS HONEST IN F1, MCLAREN ME SHOULD GIVE THE TITLE TO MR MASSA WHILST BOWING THEIR HEAD IN THE SHAME."
I rest my case.
I was on the aircraft, so was alonso; he was sat next to Ayrton Senna.
It's a bit worrying Cyrano, nice to have seen you anyway. Happy New Year.
