Alonso plane crash story rubbished

Eurosport - Tue, 06 Jan 17:23:00 2009

Fernando Alonso's agent has denied reports that the former Formula One world champion was involved in a plane crash in Kenya at the weekend.

The Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera had reported that the Renault driver had escaped unhurt after being in a plane crash in Malindi, Kenya.

It was reported that Alonso and his family were in the process of taking off around 18:00 on Sunday when the private jet touched an airport building and damaged a wing.

However, his agent Luis Garcia Abad has rubbished the claim.

"It seems that the plane took a blow while they were parking it," said Luis Garcia Abad. "Fernando wasn't even inside the aircraft.

"We didn't give it the slightest importance and because of that this commotion surprises us. It doesn't even qualify as an accident."

The two-time world champion was in Kenya for a New Year's Eve party being hosted by Renault boss Flavio Briatore.

  9. I feel sorry for "marnio the peruvian"! I think the Hombre is ignorant and perhaps a bit of a cretin not to know that Italy is the Cradle of Western Civilization. The Italian Renaissance brought back to life Men from dying in the Dark Ages and the Middle ages to what Western Civilization is today. Stick to the Andes hombre!
